70-74 A

Yes but the exams are also harder

If we’re talking the sort of exams you’d do in your last year of school, it’s like 80+ for an A and 70+ for  B

And also, grade boundaries aren’t standard for all exams. They’re set prior to the exam according to assumed difficulty and then raised or lowered depending on how the country does in the exam. Therefore if everyone does really well, they’ll make the grade boundaries a lot higher and you could end up with a lower grade than you thought you were guaranteed.

And the exams are difficult as hell.

And for an A* you have to get pretty much full marks in every exam you do for a course.

So basically the UK exam system sucks as much as everywhere else :/
